Pre-school and Nursery

About us...

Welcome to Albrighton nursery, situated within the Albrighton, Cosford and Donnington community. We quite simply put the children at the heart of everything we do. Our nursery journey started in 2017 with a small pre-school which has grown tremendously to date, now consisting of a 32-place pre-school and a 20-place toddler room.

We are a passionate nursery who strive for high quality learning, provision and experiences during your child’s journey with us.

Laying down the foundations for lifelong earning, our primary aims are to provide a warm, secure and nurturing environment where you are 100 percent happy to leave your children in our care.

We like to think of ourselves as an extended family and you can therefore expect a homely feel. Everyone knows ‘that feeling’ when you find the right setting for your child, and we firmly believe that we are that setting. We are a happy nurturing environment where the individuality and uniqueness of every child matters. Don’t just take our word for it though, book a visit and come and see for yourself.

We are passionate about early years and want everyone to understand that we are much more than a beautiful play space. We form our own unique approach which is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We believe in learning through play, authentic resources and loose parts, which encourage creativity, imagination, and those ever-important skills for life. Children are at the heart of our practice, and we strive to create a sense of belonging for children and staff (our “family” as we like to refer to them).

We believe our environments need to be a nurturing extension of home. We take care to ensure that environments are conducive to empowering children’s learning and development. These include natural, calm play spaces that don’t overstimulate and focus on the careful provocations and invitations to learning that are on offer for children to explore and investigate.

Our aim is to empower our children, lay down foundations for the future and instil a lifelong love of learning. Educating our children through head, hands and heart, we are teaching our children to think, solve problems and to be creative.

As the Nursery is led and managed by the primary school, children also have the opportunity to access a wide range of resources. This includes the vast school grounds, forest school, pond and playground equipment.

We have extensive space indoors and outdoors with a strong ethos of free-flow learning between these.

From Georgie, our manager…

My early years journey began back in 2008 and I have never looked back. Gaining my Level 3 NVQ in children’s learning and Development in 2010, my passion for early years and the importance of meaningful learning at this stage has only grown stronger. Building our nursery on our ethos and foundations has been very special.

I am currently studying a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood, This is an insightful degree allowing me to drive forward further understanding of the importance of learning through play, listening to children and the psychology of childhood development. Self-regulation is also very important to me so there is a big focus on early brain development within our setting. I am proud to be a part of this nursery and school, offering a unique opportunity for children to start their journey with us and continue through to end of Primary in year 6.

Most importantly, the children remain at the heart of everything we do and we strive to give them the best possible start in life.
