Calling All Parents – Albrighton Primary School & Nursery Needs You

We would like to expand our PTA group, to support us in our fundraising efforts.  If you have an hour to spare here or there or you would really like to make a difference to our school community then we need your help.

Mrs Tearle would like to invite willing parents, grandparents etc. to support her to form a committee that would arrange various fundraising events across the year, such as Christmas and summer Fairs, raffles, refreshment sales, discos, Mother’s and Father’s Day shops etc.  If you do feel you have some time to spare either during the school day or after school, please get in touch with Mrs Tearle via the school office.

If you feel you don’t want to be part of the committee, but you could support us at our events then please look out for further information in the future.

We can only hold these events and raise the funds that will support us in our endeavour to make our school the best and most exciting learning environment it can be, if we get enough volunteers.

What do PTAs do?

A PTA (or Friends group) is a Parent Teacher Association, an organisation with a mission to make the school a better place for children to learn.  It brings together parents, teachers, and children to raise funds and strengthen the school community.  Money raised is usually spent on things that the school budget does not cover.  Our school income has greatly suffered because of the pandemic.  We have many projects that we want to create as they would really benefit the children, but due to funding can’t afford.

Why should I join one?

There are many reasons why you should join our PTA.  From making new friends and getting to know the school environment, through to helping raise much needed funds and making a difference to the children and school community.  All of these things help you grow in confidence as a parent and it feels good to know you are making a difference for your children and for generations to come.
