About the School
Albrighton Primary School is an excellent school which has 8 classes, for children between the ages of 4 and 11. The school is based in two buildings on the same site. Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 (ages 4-7) are based in one and Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11) in the other. The school is based in an idyllic setting on the edge of the beautiful village of Albrighton in rural Shropshire. We have extensive grounds with three junior football pitches, two large playgrounds, a heated outdoor swimming pool with changing rooms and a wooded area. We have a tyre park, an outdoor fitness trail and a well established pond and school garden to keep the children active.
Inside the school, in addition to the classrooms, we also have multi purpose rooms, two computer suites, two library areas, two halls, a dining room and a stage on which the children perform productions and class assemblies. All the classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and projectors. We offer a before and after school childcare provision, which is expertly run by Albrighton Flyers and is extremely popular with working parents. We offer a variety of lunchtime and afterschool clubs which vary from term to term but include; Cookery, Ocarina, Recorder, Netball, Football, Cricket, Tag Rugby, Cross Country, Gymnastics, Tennis, Choir and Rounders.
Our most recent Ofsted Report (June 2012) can be seen at www.ofsted.gov.uk.
We have very strong links with nearby RAF Cosford from where many of our children come. We also have good links with the local churches and businesses in the village. The school is used extensively in the evenings by a variety of community groups including, Albrighton Players Drama Group, Albrighton Musical Theatre Company, Pilates, Gymnastics, Zumba, Martial Arts, Albrighton Junior Football Club and Albrighton Swimming Club.
