Linking our RE focus with our literacy focus on traditional tales.  We have learnt the story of Little Red Hen off by heart.  Watch our video below which shows how we have used actions to help us remember the sequence.

Converting media.
(Media will continue converting in the background)

Over the first few weeks Mountaineers will explore the structure, setting and characters of the well-known fairy tale, ‘Hansel and Gretel’.  By the end of the  fairy tale unit, they will have written a new version with a new bad character and a new setting.

Use the resources below to engage with our class text.

Listen to the different versions of the story.  Can you identify what is the same and what is different?

Hansel and Gretel version 1

Week 1:  We will be splitting longer words into syllables to help to spell the words.  You can help at home by clapping for each syllable.  For example, the following words have 2 syllables and therefore 2 claps:

‘wood / man’,

‘can / not’,

‘pock / et’,

‘cauld / ron’
